Okay, so I've got this new computer. And I wanna download my e-mail, but how? See, the thing is, I've been using Eudora since the dawn of time. Simply because this was the client we had at uni and I never bothered to change to something else due to compatibility reasons.

And now I'm looking for something new. Help! )

I already did this last year, but it bears annual repeating. May 10 is World Lupus Day. And I think it's only appropriate to spread the word.

Lucy wasn't only in the sky with diamonds, she also had lupus. )

... and this will probably only mean something to you if you've seen ReGenesis, but I didn't want to withhold from you that thing that translated from my brain to my mouse hand the other night.

And then the sequence gel revealed... )

Hee, this is hilarious! I love it when fans give in to silly notions.

Title: Picking Up The Pieces
Fandom: ReGenesis
Author: TeeJay
Genre: Het
Characters/Pairings: David/Jill
Rating: PG-13
Warning: Uhm... colourful language? Can't have David without it.
Summary: After David having received bad news, Jill is there to pick up the pieces. Quite literally.
Timeline: This is set post-series, but let's please assume that Jill has found her way back to Toronto and Jill and David somehow managed to make a semblance of a relationship work.
Author's Note: Okay, so I will shamelessly admit that this one is kind of a guilty pleasure, because angsty h/c is my comfort zone. Indulge me, all right?
Thanks to [info]kanarek13 for a first sanity check and [info]frith_in_thorns for the beta.
Disclaimer: ReGenesis, its characters and its settings belong to Christina Jennings, The Movie Network, Movie Central and Shaftesbury Entertainment. No copyright infringement intended, plus I'm not making any money from this.

Haven't done one of these in a while, so here's a photo of my friend's lovely and slightly crazy cat Charlie, taken yesterday.

So it looks like I've got a thing for voices. Cause I was watching the pilot of Alcatraz (without much of an idea what it was gonna be about and no idea about who was gonna be in it), and the first scene there's the voiceover, and I'm, like, "Hey, that's Sam Neill's voice, right?" And it was. I also recognized Jenny Young's voice in Trust, Inc. the other day, going, "Hey, that's Kinsella from Afghanada!"

One of the creators and writers of Bomb Girls just sent me a message via Tumblr, thanking me for my "thoughtful and encouraging words" on their series. (I have been posting weekly reviews of the show on my Tumblr.) Michael effin' MacLennan sent me a message! Me. I mean... I... I... guh. I don't even know what to say. :-O

I think I'm gonna be working all day on a way how to appropriately respond to him that doesn't involve stuttering and flailing and mouth gaping. But, uhm, thank you. Thank you, sir. I am truly and genuinely flattered. And now I'm gonna go flail some more.

Why SOPA is dangerous
To Sum Up
SOPA:
  • Gives the government the right to unilaterally censor foreign websites.
  • Gives copyright holders the right to issue economic takedowns and bring lawsuits against website owners and operators, if those websites have features that make it possible to post infringing content. [A comment feature is enough.]
  • Makes it a felony offense to post a copyrighted song or video.

This bill turns us all into criminals. If it passes, then you either stop using the Internet, or you simply hope that you never end up in the crosshairs, because if you’re targeted, you will be destroyed by this bill. You don’t have to be a big, mean, nasty criminal — common Internet usage is effectively criminalized under this law. This bill will kill American innovation and development of the Internet, as it will become too risky to do anything of value. It is toxic and dangerous, and should not, under any circumstances, be supported.
